Plan monthly, execute weekly. Spend 2-3 hours at month's end planning content themes, campaigns, and key dates. Then batch-create content weekly. This prevents last-minute scrambling and ensures strategic variety.

The weekly posting template I recommend: Monday (educate), Wednesday (entertain/inspire), Friday (promote/sell), plus daily Stories. This balances value-giving with revenue-driving content. Saturdays are perfect for user-generated content or testimonials.

Use tools wisely. Free tools like Google Calendar or Trello work fine for planning. As you scale, consider Meta Business Suite for scheduling Facebook and Instagram posts. The key isn't the tool - it's the habit of planning ahead.

Build in flexibility for trending topics and real-time content. Your calendar should guide you, not restrict you. Leave 20% of your posting schedule open for spontaneous, timely content that capitalizes on trends.

The businesses that succeed on social media aren't more creative - they're more consistent. A content calendar makes consistency achievable.
