Every "best time to post" guide gives different answers because the truth is: it depends entirely on YOUR specific audience. Generic advice fails because your customers have unique behaviors.

The data-backed general guidelines: Instagram performs best Tuesday-Friday, 10am-2pm. LinkedIn peaks Tuesday-Thursday mornings. TikTok sees high engagement during lunch (12-1pm) and evening (7-9pm). But these are starting points, not gospel.

Find your optimal times using platform analytics. Instagram Insights shows when your followers are online. Post when your specific audience is most active. This varies dramatically by industry - B2B companies should post during work hours, restaurants during meal planning times.

Test systematically. Post the same content type at different times over several weeks. Track engagement rates (not just likes, but saves, shares, and comments). You'll discover patterns unique to your audience.

Consistency trumps optimization. Posting at 80% optimal time consistently beats posting at 100% optimal time sporadically. If you can only post during non-peak hours, that's fine - build a habit your audience can rely on.

Time zones matter for local businesses. If you serve a specific city, post when that city is active, not when general national data suggests.
